so, I had to go and read Seamus a few dozen times... I like the way the poem and the image work together...I have a felt sense of looking down a well with the long telescoping effect of the photo. I am also thinking about these notions of stream and helicon, but mostly I am taken with the long sense of the well; quite compelling. Heaney is a lovely image maker...I can see why you would be called to explore his work. On the adult dignity bit... your work with word suggests that you seem to have maintained your affinity for dank, slime, fungus, roots and springs... and all things earthy and elemental... and have thus far eluded the encumbrances associated with adult dignity, although you know how to dig deep to set the darkness echoing; a sweet exploration from a simple " just " and link I enjoyed the look back at and down into ... thanks,Jon
I have just started reading some of your archival writings..I like creationism..there is so much to say and discuss..
I like the photograph..its like the same thing projected again and again..whatever we try to seek, it leads us to same thing infinitely long..though apparently everything is different,to extend, wave or float outward but actually inside there is no streaming..all one. anyways, my weird interpretation :)
I still to read Personal Helicon..I need some good calm environment to read Seamus Heaney..
Thanks to you all for your thoughts and comments... I've tried to be in touch with everyone and am reading your blogs. I've been quite swamped lately (phew!)but the end of that seems to be in site... bye for now...
