Watch out for that first step!

Thanks a lot to all you who left me comments and sent emails this last few months... I really appreciate it... I had never intended to be away from this space for so long, but then one thing seemed to pile on top of the others... and so on...

For a while I had in mind a concept for this post, but it's taken a lot of experimenting with HTML code (which I am not great with) to make it work... thanks Tom, for the heads up on the pre code...

And thanks to Zoo for the blunt message the other day telling me to get my act together on the blog again... but now look what you've gone and made me do... written right off the page, I have!

:)

Code and message in sync on this bold and evocative piece. Down or up,the edge and the fall are worth the trip.
nice to see the distinctive touch and the move beyond before...
great stuff!

you caught the eye of my 15 year old son..."is that a poem? cool. ... "
one step with you, one behind.

I found it difficult to read....had to spell out loud to get myself to find the words...but I am under a lot of stress right now so that part of my brain might just be on hold.
I love the idea!!!!!!!!

I too was glad to find you here again!

Harle,
"worth the trip", eh? HA! nice one...

Dianne,
it's a great compliment that something i wrote could help smash that misconception that poetry is simply lines of writing that don't go all the way to the end of the page... thanks!

Bard,
Thanks man! Glad to hear from you...

Zoo,
thanks for the extra line! I'll have to think of it as an addition from the people under the stairs...
;)

Lynn,
a mantra I've been trying to keep in mind lately (as I'm under some stress myself):
Stress is the result of the misguided belief that people can control things...
Hope all is well with you... thanks for dropping by...

RA,
Thanks! I will have to try to come up with something equally quirky for the next post now to keep up the pretense!
;)

I read the stairs, aloud. Well done, and
Welcome back, friend.

seventyniner,
Thanks! I'm glad to be back in this realm as well... I'll be back on the Rock soon, and hope to catch up with you there...

Soon as in soon-soon? Let's do that.

seventyniner,
at the end of the month... I'll track you down when I'm on the ground...

hi aditya,
odd, how those comments sometimes go astray... thanks for checking back all the same... hope all is well in your realm, and thanks for the interpretative comment!

Hey Jon, I really enjoyed this poem.

The way it trails along from corner to corner, it brings an interesting and uncertain (or sketchy) element to the sound of the poem.

Good stuff!

Craig,
thanks man! glad you liked this one... it was good fun to write and try and figure out the code to have it appear this way...
hope you're having a great summer and gearing up for another term in september...
