======================================

graffiti on time and
space
like a binding spell

earth
bone
and winding sheet
let this spirit come to me
yet send it in peace or not at all

never the deceiver
for things unspoken are not always unsaid

never forgiven
for you may do me no harm

but what I want to know
is
if I am
or I am not
in your heart

Isn't
what you
really want to know
Is
Are you first
In her heart?
Isn't
it?

If I lost the IS, I would have an arrowhead shape, but it needs to be there. An unfortunate is, isn't it?

I'm taking great delight in the use of is, as I once had a professor who despised the use of that word (and he was right for the most part).

Deli... thanks for dropping by and for your thoughts... seems like a question fairly frequently asked...

Deb...

No I don't think it's about being first... coming to think that I'll not be able to understand a lot of things about someone... only able to understand how I feel about them... so just to be there at all would be a good place for me... I'm a realist ;)

I think I'm going to take
you up on that IS...

give it its own line...

thanks for the suggestion...

and yeah... I've heard that statment about the IS before... lots of writers hate it... but it IS such a pointed word... don't you agree...

and by the by... I've got a photo for animal wednesday tomorrow... think you'll like it!!!

ooops... what happened to the other piece... masterpiece...?
(you know, Jon... crows are tattletales! in Iranian folkore they are famous for this trait...)
:)
anyway... this is the way crow has communicated with this poem:

we see the portrait of the poet/artist/lover as a magician... or shaman!

he's communicating with the cosmic spirit through his art(graffiti on time and space.... breathtaking image... i felt this graffiti can be something like that still life shot)
he is to control them so that he can join a spirit...
but
yet
however...
:)

when i first read this poem, the striking feature for me was this line:

'yet send it in peace or not at all'

this love is so mature... most of the loves we see are so immature ... the lover shows a lot of passion and does a lot to join the beloved... just to satisfy himself...

here the lover doesn't want to violate the cosmic peace and order... he is not selfish...
his love is not a narcissistic one...
and the deleted poem could have explained how the persona has achieved this mature attitude toward love... (an insight gained just through observing or hearing about another person lacking the insight)

true love doesn't talk about what we feel when we have our beloved... but about s/he thriving and being in peace... and about what s/he feels...
thus we have the persona wondering:
"if I am
or I am not
in your heart"

really really beautiful poem... more than that... 'beautifying'... our feelings... our minds... our lives...
------------------------------
poets are martyrs
sacrificing their lives
so that we can live thrice...
once ignorant
once pregnant
once vibrant
------------------------------

i.e., before... while.... after reading the poem

Crow...

What a great look at this piece from you!!! THANKS!!!

And yeah... trying to be a bit more grown up in my thinking about certain things... looking for resonance instead of immediacy...

Oh... about the piece on Narcissus that went missing... still a work in progress... will be putting that one up in the near future... I was looking at how it would come out on the site earlier... sorry for the confusion!!! but I've been at that one for a while now... it's a bit more complicated than a lot of whiat I write and I want it to be sparklie!!! like I said... soon to follow... thanks for your attentive eyes and interest!!!

p.s. are you looking at the blogs through a reeder that forwards the new posts to another type of software??? like a RSS feed or something like that... I'd be interested to know???

p.p.s what would you think about a community project on TAROT??? I'm trying to formulate a way to have a generator and a card on anyone's site that wants to play along... what do you think... any suggestions???

thank YOU, Jon...
yes i use Google Reader...

this project sounds marvelous...
all the projects you had on your site have been both fun and insightful...
and doing something with others is so rewarding....

you mean you are going to design some new cards which are linked to other bolgs?... or are you using the existing tarot cards... the same names with a link to those blogs?...

and the link to other bolgs can be to specific posts chosen randomly... rather than the whole bolg itself... ha?
thanks for asking...

it helps me to read others comments on your writing sometimes to understand it better than I "get it" the first time through.
I like that the arrow head is part of this Love Poem... As if Cupid thrust it into the air and it is waiting to see if the poet is ready to take it into his heart of hearts or not.

If I could I would paint a graffiti incantation on a rock and fold it up and burn it in the wild dancing night.

Crow... I'm still trying to work out the best way to do the whole Tarot thing... don't have a way to randomize the "cards" yet... I'm still brainstorming... what I visualize though is that anyone who wanted to play along could put a card on their site (in a post say -- either one from the traditional deck or one they want to make for themselves)... and then the person who is getting their fortune told will follow a trail of cards to a few different blogs??? but I don't know...

Lynn... thanks for your thoughts... yeah that little scoundrel Cupid... he's just a trouble maker lots of days I think!!!

Fern... awesome discription#$%

Truely beautiful and moving, a smooth balance of sorrow and hope.
I like the seperate line for the "is," a pause or heistance before asking the question you're afraid to discover.
Not the first time you've said "for things unspoken are not always unsaid" yet the meaning remains strong and pulls at the heart strings.
