jon the last time I've played, like you, with fire! I'm burnt and I've had to throw a shirt!

when she betrayed me, I went out and led a good part of the night, with silence and the sound of my soul echoing in my head!
then the fire is extinguished gently by itself! my tears had not been enough!

I like the picture of the sunset, it's good to stick ones feet in warm sand. And enjoy a little campfire in the evening. My next camping trip, to the spiritual gathering, is at the end of this country, all you see looking west is water and a setting sun.

Love the song .... love it.

Your posting below reminds me of some interesting words spoken by one of Jane Austen's characters.
The character talks about how intoxicating it can be to believe our happiness is wrapped up in another person (or for that matter - a job, a passion, where we live, whom we live with) ....

simple events like the one described below kind of throw the whole idea of "what makes people happy" kind of out of that whole "easy to simplify" category

you're right
we can't judge
there is no right or wrong
there is no hot or cold

there just is
life ...

as it is ...

Hey, don't tell me I can't judge, I damn sure can, the world will never change without it. Those that don't want you to judge don't want you to judge them. How do you expect the world to grow up that way?

Hey, had any dates with the members of THE INSANE CHICKS SOCIETY (TICS)lately? They are great on not being judged, but you can bet your ass that they judge you.

Nothing better than scattering the embers of the campfire into a tiny little universe in the sand....watching each die as you slip off to sleep. When you awaken in the morning-nothing remains but grey ashes and the memory of red and yellow flames. The trick is to be warmed by the memory and not chilled by it.

"the world will never change without it."

i'm with BBC in a way ... but seems judgement is used here with various though related meanings...

sure judgement changes the world... the best allegory is Satan's judgement about God's creation... he is the symbol of our judging and reasoning mind... before that our mind was in a state of animal function...

that 'acceptance' that sufis and mystics talk about is what is gained through awareness... after passing through the land of judgement and reasoning...

thanks BBC and ... yes you're right... women judge more... know why?

Debra
i cannot leave without saying how i enjoyed your poetic and profound words...

"The trick is to be warmed by the memory and not chilled by it."

so true....
love to you.

I know your soul well, so I know that at times you want to blow things up, like buildings full of people/monkeys, just to get rid of a lot of them. And you also want to burn down some of the things they build because they offend you.

And would look at it as entertainment after thousands of years of being frustrated that they haven't shaped up on their own.

Keep the fire going.

The fire was cool, and I'll agree with the ole' guy about the sunset.

I was in Mazatlan, and there was a kid juggling flames sticks. I got a picture, or two somewhere??

Good post

Wow! These pyrotechnics pictures are awesome, Jon. I once had a friend who was a fire-eater. So cool.

I have a soft spot for the fire element as well. And I have already told you about my eating matches as a child plus me being a dragon in the Chinese zodiac.
