After Kahil Gibran

A wing of my heart beats broken,
not even a breath falls on your ghosts

when I pause to let them walk by.
When I see your face on a busy street

I tell myself it's just broken wings
and this stranger is cheered

by seeing another stranger
in a strange land.

Oh My !
What should I call this ?
Another case of quantum entanglement?
On my yesterday walk with my family, a blade of grass calls out to me and I see it in the middle of a cosmic dance of water round a cut trunk.
Peek-A-Boo! and click!

An today a hopper comes to me and invites me to visit.... a blade of grass! Peek-A-Boo!

And the intricate designs on this blade of grass and the song it hums are so familiar and so beautiful....
No, no strangers here... Think your poem is saying the same thing I say ... we -- as all the things in the cosmos -- are just playing a game of Peek-A-Boo!
Your poems are so amazing... so powerful. I'm really enthraled.

Thanks for you nice words on my blog and thanks for inviting me.
I'll be back soon to read more ... to learn more.

Ah Gibran. the ultimate romantic. i like this one - kind of wistful, but still hopeful. or maybe that's just the cold meds i'm on ... i haven't read "broken wings" yet, recommended??

Human... i found it odd that i was reading a section by gibran on SATAN in his book BETWEEN NIGHT AND MORN and his thoughts on the perceived EVIL that had crept into the world and on that same day found a blog that was set up on this same thread... well met indeed...

All things are set before us
like the hidden wanting to be found

Honor... yeah i totally recommend the broken wings... i think it's his most heartfelt story... you should check it out...

Quantum entanglement!
Yes! This is it!
Years ago when I was a university student I'd read a few of his poem. Now, a few days ago someone else told me about him and now you...
And funny last night my husband came home with a little book of his poems!
He's got something to tell me, I think. I should read that section you've mentioned above.
And is that beautiful poem you wrote on my blog beginning with the lines mentioned above one of his poems?
First I thought it is yours. It is so enchanthing.

I love such odd things ... or as Honour has put it: such gentle surprises.
Hopper,
About the toad, I got stumpted!
I cannot say it for sure that there was no toad there, cuz I was absorbed by the little tuft of grass while taking the picture.
Not only our eyes but also our minds sometimes are tricked by the play of light and shadow:

I've never met a stranger, I was their friend before I met them. Only they could change that.

Kahlil also said: "They dip their pens in our hearts and think they are inspired." (Sand and foam)

I think all of us dip our pens in other people's hearts to find inspiration. Or as Joni Mitchell wrote in her song "A Case of you": "part of you pours out of me in these lines from time to time"

I love your blog.
