I hear a million different voices speaking in tongues,
their words just empty vessels I fill with meaning.

Attempting to fill the words of others with meaning is admirable and brave... yet we all try to do so. I wonder if the reason is that we crave to understand, or to be understood...

I hear a million different voices jabbering at me,
To do or not to do!
Go away all of you!
Shoo!

Or perhaps it's just the reverse...

A million different voices hear me speaking in a strange tongue
My words just empty vessels they fill with meaning...
