Sentential Logic

Between the roses and the thorns
truth slumbers fitfully

as the sons of sorrow
are the poets and the prophets.

Ah poet, there is as much truth on the thorn as there is on the rose....(I just wrote that, not bad, eh?)

When my words
walk on the thorns,
truth yawns
and nestles on the rose petals.

To get to the truth, as Einstein would tell you if he was here, you have to survive getting over a pit of insanity so you can learn what is on the other side.

Many don't even try, and many don't make it, but a few of us do. We come back crazy as hell but we also come back with great wisdoms, that others often don't understand until our passing on.

I'm not much of a poet myself, but I did write the stand by the sea thing.

I steal too...

If you didn't steal thoughts there wouldn't be a hell of a lot in your head. LOL

But some of them wasn't worth stealing them, it's just a journey you are on and you are trying to decide what you stole that you want to now discard.

"truth slumbers fitfully" ... i like this ...and the poets and prophets - do they wake the truth or just point out where it's trapped? depends on your definition of poet/prophet i suppose ...

been thinking from the comments that it may be a bit of fun (and reveal some interesting things if we'd write a chain poem... next post maybe... i'll put up the first verse and have others add a verse each and we'll see what we come up with...

the thought on the thorns and roses:

some people think life is only about enjoyment and gold, vanity... they are the rose...

some people think life is about suffering and poverty, helping those in need... they are the thorns...

I guess that's sort of it... maybe a new post on this tomorrow... I've gotta break out of this valley for now...

Like is like licking honey off a thorn. That is not an original thought, but one of my favorites.
You can't have one without the other, roses and thorns. Well, the do have thornless roses, but that seems so unnatural. One should risk the bloody jab in pursuit of sweetness. It lends excitement, and juxtaposition.
